I don’t want to die
Breathe. Don’t look behind you. Just keep going. Your soon home. The street was narrow. It was in the middle of the night and someone was following me. Breathe, I told myself again and again. Keep calm. You got this. I heard the ever fastening footsteps of my follower. As I turned right and got into a new street a cat suddenly came in my way. I took a step back. My heart was now beating even faster than before, because I nearly stepped on the cat. The cat was so black that I could barely make the lines of her out. Shit, I thought as I remembered that someone was following me. What shall I do? Shall I run away? Shall I call the police? In an instance a loud sound came. I didn’t have time to process that the sound was a blizzard and not my follower which is why I started to ran. I heard footsteps. Again. Getting faster. I ran as fast as I could, but suddenly a lightning struck in a tree which was just a few metres in front of me. I stopped. Being shocked and overwhelmed by all the things happening. Someone tapped on my shoulder and I turned. The finger was cold. Colder than anything I’ve ever experienced. “You entrun your doom long enough, Emma.” Her voice was cold and sickening sweet at the same time. “Who are you.” I asked being in too strong shock to think straight and run away. “Deep inside you you know why I’m here and who I am.” I didn’t know what she was talking about. “Emma. You died a few minutes ago from being struck by a lightning. This is just your brain replaying moments of your life. And apparently incorrectly since you couldn’t survive the lightning strike.”
“No. That can’t be. I’m soon to be studying at my dream college. I still have so much ahead of me. No I won’t accept this.” I ran away. Little did I know that I was just running in the hands of the death. Again.”
