More Than That
“You know, it’s a stupid idea,” I said in a stage whisper to my best friend, and the boy sitting next to me looked over one brow raised.
“What’s a stupid idea?”
“Pfft. You know it’s impolite to eavesdrop,” I teased, smirking at him. My best friend rolled her eyes but I knew at this point she was used to my banter with this boy.
“You know I am willing to do anything stupid,” he said with a slight chuckle. I raised a brow and he chuckled.
“Doesn’t mean you should be.”
“Doesn’t mean you can stop me.”
“Okay. Fine. The girl over there is looking for a date. She’s pretty dumb.”
He frowned and mumbled something, not even looking at where I had pointed, which was actually nowhere. I knew he wouldn’t even ask out another girl. I laughed and he glared at me.
“I already have someone to ask out.”
“Who’s that?”
“You.”
“You’re welcome to ask.”
“Will you come out on a date with me?”
“Heck ya. I’ve been waiting for you to ask.”
