It is the stillness that haunts my days It is the stillness which keeps me awake It is the stillness that creeps into my soul It is the stillness that holds me back It is the stillness which prevents movement I can’t move, Can’t eat, Can’t sleep The stillness keeps me in place I hate the stillness The only thing it does is keep me pinned I hate change But without it I am forever stuck in the stillness But is it really better to be safe than to be free? The stillness is safe The stillness is what leaves me be Although, I do wonder what I could be Maybe the stillness is not for me
