there i sat, the beaming and bloodied image of a virgin

but i could not convince them of it

my black and white bounds were blurred lines when scrutinized

it was no longer my responsibility to defend

my purity culture had become muddied, but not to me

i had nothing left to prove, nothing left to say, my pleas now had gone away

with satisfaction in my eyes and a tight lipped mouth on my face

to them i was but one fall from grace away

to be denied at the gates when comes my day

my best kept secret, at this point just for fun

what was mine had been kept
