POEM STARTER

Using twelve stanzas, write a poem about each month of the year.

A Year In Twelve Stanzas

**January**

The world begins in frosted white,

With breath like clouds in morning light.

Resolutions fill the air,

New hopes are planted everywhere.

**February**

A fleeting month of love’s embrace,

Of hearts and flowers, soft with grace.

Winter lingers, but dreams take flight,

A spark of warmth in the coldest night.

**March**

The winds grow restless, skies turn gray,

Spring whispers secrets on its way.

The first brave blooms push through the snow,

A promise kept where seasons go.

**April**

Soft rains fall gently on the earth,

Awakening life, inspiring birth.

The world turns green, the skies turn blue,

Each day feels fresh, each heart anew.

**May**

Fields in bloom, and songs of birds,

The air alive with joyful words.

Sunlit mornings, calm and bright,

A time of peace, a pure delight.

**June**

The summer hums with golden rays,

Long, lazy nights and endless days.

The world feels wide, the future near,

Adventure calls this time of year.

**July**

Beneath the stars, the fireworks bloom,

A tapestry of red and plume.

Heat fills the air; the skies are wide,

And freedom rings where hearts reside.

**August**

The sun beats down on endless green,

A golden haze in summer’s sheen.

The days grow still, the fields stand tall,

A subtle shift to hints of fall.

**September**

The leaves ignite in fiery hue,

A crispness lingers in the dew.

The year begins its slow descent,

A time of change, a time well spent.

**October**

The harvest moon, a ghostly glow,

Leaves dance where autumn breezes blow.

A playful chill, a jack-o’-lantern’s grin,

October weaves its magic in.

**November**

A quieter time of thanks and cheer,

With fading light, the close draws near.

The hearth burns warm, the heart feels full,

November’s touch is soft and wool.

**December**

In sparkling frost and candle’s gleam,

The year concludes, a cherished dream.

With joy and love, the season ends,

A time of peace for all to mend.
