Design, it glimmers in the light

Beguiled into her web of lies

A cruel demise awaits the fly

The mouse creeps softly through the night

Invisible to all, but owl

Swiftly, the wisened bird takes flight

Too late, mouse glimpses eyes of brown

The wily snake will bide his time

For unsuspecting passers-by

Tail strikes! It’s time to utilise

Aggressive forms of mimicry

Whichever side you are aligned

With, predator or prey

You can’t deny, there is a kind
