into the light, away from darkness

the sun dipped down underneath my feet,

the moon tipping over my head,

the world had lost its balance,

i was filled with an awful sense of dread,

because now the sun had gone into hiding,

there was nothing left to save me from my fears,

and the cold chill running down my spine,

would undoubtedly reduce me to tears,

every day i sit, bask in the glorious sunlight,

pick daisies, blow on dandelions in the fields,

but the night comes to haunt me,

and the beautiful silver dagger it wields,

it’s enough to cut me down to ashes,

draw each lifeless breath from my carcass,

only to be put back together when the sun comes up,

into the light, away from darkness.
