A metal ball larger than her head soared through the air at a speed she never thought possible. She knew where it was coming from, she knew who was planning to kill her. Yet, she wanted to believe for just a few more seconds the awful reality of her life was not happening to her. It was happening to someone else and she was just viewing it from afar. But when a steady hand grabbed hers and pulled she knew this was far from the truth. She turned and saw the man who her heart stopped for every time their eyes locked. This time was no different. Her stomach tumbled at the thought of this being the last time she would gaze upon his beautifully crafted eyes. His kingdom was here to kill her and take her place. She was aware of that, she has always been aware of that and yet she let herself believe she could have what those around her call love. He opened his mouth to say something to her, what it was she will never know. A large spike rammed through his abdomen is smooth succession and embedded itself within hers. Who ever had thrown it had miscalculated the force and for that they both would pay the price. The pain in her gut was insubstantial compared to the one in her heart as she watched the man she had dreamt a future with slowly fall over as blood pooled from his lips and she followed suit.
