Wrong number?
“Bzzzz” I glanced over my phone to see what it was buzzing about. It was a message, “Silas” it read. My heart immediately did flutters and butterflies danced in my stomach like they were at a midnight jubilee. I had known Silas Bracket since I was in the crib, he was my best friend but I had always yearned for something more. Taking a deep breath I opened my phone and read the message. “Hey I really really like you a lot. Like more than friend. I want you to be mine. It’s ok if you don’t feel the same.” I wanted to scream. All my life this is what I had wanted. I texted back after a few moments of pumping my fists up and down. “I really like you too. I do feel the same, have for the longest of time.” I pressed send and waited, holding my breath. My phone’s ringtone broke through the tense air. I yanked it excitedly, almost dropping it. “Hello?!” I said trying to contain the squeal. “Annie I’m so sorry. I didn’t know you felt that way but I meant to send that to Natalie. I’m sorry but can we still be friends?” Silas confessed. My heart shattered into a million pieces. I stayed silent not knowing what to say. “An? You there?” He called. “Y-YEp I’m here. I actually meant to send that to……Derek I apologise too.” I made up the name hoping he didn’t know a Derek. My tears were threatening to spill. “Oh ok then. Bye now Annie” “Bye Silas.” I hung up and sobbed. My face was red with embarrassment. God, what am I going to do now?
