Lost in the fog
Alone in the deep
Bound by a promise
That he couldn’t keep.

Stop Looking Back At Me
A sore truth experience.
I met him during a phase in my life when my heart wasn’t right,
My soul was loss
And I cried myself to sleep most nights.
He was a reflection of me,
The part of me I pretended to be.
He wasn’t real. He was all in my head.
A figment of my imagination.
A fictional character I brought to life for some type of sensation… I was unsatisfied by him.
He appeared to be a good man,
I swear by this reality,
I swear to you he swooped me off my feet…
But, he had no intention to help me land.
He didn’t reach out his hand or at least whisper sweet words of affirmation… he only listened when it was about him. He only said I love you as a ticket to enter my internal heaven.. I…
I wasn’t satisfied with him. I felt anxious around him. I wanted to run so far away, but my feet remained grounded. I needed something back from him. It was compensation for what I loss being with him.
I wasn’t satisfied with him. I wasn’t happy with myself. He lured me in wearing a sheep’s clothing. He fed me a dream that filled my stomach up. He did this for our kingdom to fall…
I convinced myself some years ago, that I made him up. He wasn’t real at all. Yet, I hold onto every memory. So, I repeat “ Lost in the fog. Alone in the deep. Bound by a promise that he couldn’t keep. A promise to love me without a fee.”
