Memory of the Pretzel Hut
Oh how I remember, standing there with anticipation and excitement in the line holding the lovely chestnut bunny in my arms. It stayed still as we crept closer to the mouth watering pretzel stand. Each moment we moved up It felt as if I could taste the air from the delicious place, and the bunny too twitching it’s nose with wonder.
Stepping up looking over the menu I found a giant salty pretzel with cheddar cheese on the side. I knew that would be the perfect snack, maybe the most tasty of the day. While my father paid the bunny started to drift off into a dream as I continued petting its fluffy fur.
We decided to sit down under a red and white umbrella bench near the sides of the petting zoo. The animals from across drifted over to us, some slow and curious others fast and hungry wanting a taste from the scented air. Before I ate I walked with the sleeping bunny in hand moving cautiously trying not to disturb him over to the zoo keeper. It was quite saddening giving him up for he was comforting in my presence, but we were taking a break and soon would leave.
I returned to my father sitting under the umbrella him handing me the giant salted pretzel with cheese. I looked over at him and saw there was none in his hand, how could he not be tempted to by another. Feeling a bit sad I broke off half of it and handed it to him, he smiled a thankful smile as we sat in silence savoring every bite.
We barely ever get to go out and make memories like this one since father being busy and I with school. It was the best time I could ever have sitting there with a bunny and sharing a pretzel with my dad by the petting zoo all afternoon.
