WRITING OBSTACLE

Write a letter to a friend, from the perspective of someone living 100 years in the future.

What commonplace things might they mention that would surprise a reader now, and how can you use these to drive an interesting narrative?

Endlessly

Dear Alessia,

It has been 100 years since we said goodbye. It has been 182 years since we met. 140 years since I was cursed with immortality. I have existed without a heart since you died. My chest is a cold void, never to be filled or warmed. We were supposed to be best friends forever. You promised. You promised you would never leave me. I know you had no choice. Death can for you, the way it will never come for me. I will survive for for ever, but I have not lived a day since your last breath.

I love you endless,

Avianna
