We sat in the backyard with the rest of our friends playing Uno when my brother got a a few texts. Adrien looked puzzles and slightly distraught. It took me longer than it should of to realize he was turning pale and looked nauseated ,masking his fear well by playing with his hair. He loosened his grip on his whole body, dropping his soda and spilt it on my white sneakers. I was so angry but I only now realize how absolutely useless and stupid the whole fight was. I just needed to let it out some steam from the week I was having and we were constantly at each other’s throats anyways.

He offered to buy me new ones -which didn’t sound like him at all, I should have realized then and there- but I couldn’t let him feel like he had paid me back, I couldn’t let him have the satisfaction of that. His phone buzzed like a massage chair going into nitro. The rest of our friends pretended like there was a glass wall 30 ft thick between us and continued their game without looking up at the us. Adrien stopped looking at me for a split second and read the messages and quietly whispered without looking up from his phone “ I’m in trouble Stace. I.... I think someone’s after me.”

Please! Like I was going to believe him after that stunt he just pulled. But there was something in his voice I just couldn’t shake. “You are really trying to shake your way out of this with THAT kind of an excuse? Adrien stayed outside for a little longer , maybe to text back his secret girlfriend who was probably blowing up his phone. Sounds like Adrien I thought. He isn’t the type to show display love for others. What could he have done to make him this scared? He came inside eventually and locked all the doors and windows. “Dude if your going to throw a party while we have the place to ourselves just do it already, I’ll shut myself in my room and watch anime till 3” I said making a pbj .
