Signed, Life

The sand was so wholly evil.

It’s covered all of my lands.

Storm after storm pushed it to all corners.

All I wanted was my people’s freedom,

Freedom from the sands,

Freedom from the evil.

The only thing about it was

Sand only took over when they died.

When all life left the planet,

All fires left burning

And the gas left flowing,

That’s when everything was lost.

I clean up the mess of my people,

Though it was me they hurt.

Life.

That’s what they called me.

So many claimed to care about me,

And many truly did, for them I am grateful.

But so many disregarded me,

So when my brother with his title came,

I stayed back and let his take you all.

Death.

You called him Death.

Always with the naming.

We are beyond your understanding

Yet you mortally name us, label us.

You we mine, my most perfect creation.

Then you left me for your own gain.

The sand filled my tarnished lands,

And I could not mourn them.

No, I had to rebuild you and yours.

All so you could destroy yourselves again.

One final chance I give you,

Don’t screw it up.
