“Well it is like a car accident you know? Once I was walking to my friend’s house and I stepped between two parked cars. Suddenly this car raced up the street and clipped one of the parked car. Like a bat out of hell. The parked car lurched back. The bumper missed me by inches. Heart in my throat, I jumped back.
“Boom! The boom was so loud I felt it in my bones. White or silver, I couldn’t identify the runaway car of my life depended on it.
That’s what my life is like. Random car crashes everyday. Even weeks later driving past my friend’s street I felt my heart begin to race. That’s my everyday. Except I make breakfast for that runaway car. It’s my job to take care of someone who can’t stop hurting.
And it’s the waiting, right? That’s the worst part. Knowing it will happen; knowing it has to happen, but never knowing when. Having to keep smiling. Having to do all things as if everything’s okay. Knowing it isn’t and not being able tell to anyone but because it’s just so embarrassing,” Jane said.
“Um. I am so sorry. They are working on the espresso machine right now. I can do coffee or iced tea. “
