POEM STARTER

Write a Crybin about a beautiful summer's day.

A Crybin is a variation of an Italian sonnet, with the rhyme structure ABBA CDDC EFG EFG.

Summer Love

Oh, to wake late on a summer’s day

by an ocean breeze kissing my cheek,

early risers stirring me from sleep,

seagulls call me to ocean waves.

Sweet summer days, so ripe and so sweet,

blooming with fragrance from the gardenias,

close your eyes, that’s where I’ll meet you

time’ll stand still, and our mouths will greet.

Oh, you look so good with your tan,

and your skin tastes warm and salty,

love lingers longer on a summer day.

Oh, I wish I could keep this man,

but thinking that now is faulty,

eventually summer loves slips away.
