Help

No. I was not ready to receive the answer to my speculations just yet - I thought I had more time.

His hand brushed against mine as the breeze sliced through the thick waves in my hair, causing the strands to attack my face while my vision became a momentous blur.

“Fucking hell,” I muttered to myself as I whipped my hair forwards, upside down, and reversed the motion with similar force. Just as I performed this action, I reached for the hairband on my wrist and snatched my hair with it in a tight ponytail, before it could go to war with my face again. I let out an exasperated sigh and shifted my sights to Dami with a relieved smile. His expression displayed a high level of amusement.

“Every damn time,” he laughed, shaking his head, with his hands now placed inside his jacket pockets, as I rolled my eyes.

“Just keep walking.” I flustered, pretending to be mad as I tried to double my speed to walk ahead of him. I wasn’t fast enough.

I felt a gentle tug at the back of my arm, through the thickness of my own winter jacket. As this act caught my attention and halted me briefly, I felt myself being pulled with a little more rigour as I was spun around, on the tip of the heel of my three-inch high boots. My immediate reaction was the shock and fear of almost falling to the concrete pavement, before I felt the secure arms interlocking me tightly across the small of my back, holding me upright. Almost instantly after, I was confronted with the sensation of full but gentle lips pressed upon my own, firmly yet with ease.

After what felt like a whole day, Dami pulled apart from me, with his arms still interlocked behind my back, and me helpless within his grip. My own arms had somehow found their way around his neck, as I was still trying to collect myself and fathom the startling event that had occurred. However, I was also pleasantly aware of the tingle and anticipation that was flowing through my body.

Something that scared me at first, but something that I now knew I was ready for. I didn’t even know it myself until the kiss, but I could tell that I had been waiting for this to happen, ever since the day our eyes met across the stone bridge; the exact one we were now standing together in the middle of.
