Tainted

I brought my hands to my eyes, then I burrowed my fingers in.

Anything to get it’s image out of my head.

I only saw it for a few seconds but it felt like living a thousand lifeless lifetimes, stuck in its emotionless gaze.

I can hear it’s bones pop as it slowly shuffles towards me.

I can feel it’s rancid breath as the beast inches closer, I find it’s warmth oddly comforting.

I can smell a sour metallic scent permeating from its mouth.

My breathing grows laboured as the creature looms over me.

There is another loud pop as the monsters jaws unhinge.

Followed by the wet sickly crunch of bones snapping.
