You face every situation with expectations

Whether good or bad it’s there just the same

It does not matter if it is of your own creation

For your feelings after will fill you with overwhelming shame

At wanting something that is not your to want

Yet you desire it all the same

To those who wish to have what you want

You only leave them with a taunt

Hoping beyond all hope that they will stumble

But you realize your selfishness

And try to make yourself humble

When you are overwhelmed with a pettiness

You try and bury your desires

And let other have what you want

All the while making yourself a liar
