Sylle, The Faerie
And just like that, a faerie spirit named Sylle came into being.

As a faerie, Sylle’s whole life purpose was to watch over and protect one person, and whether they were human or fae made no difference. It took 5 months before she gained any sense of purpose, during which time she wandered aimlessly in the forest lands of Artua. It was another 3 years before she discovered her C’aerme.
Felisya, a human child in Charvile, Havanitoa, was already 14 when Sylle found her. She had been raised for the past 9 years by her brother, Elaric. He had treated her like his little princess, making sure she had everything she could want, within his ability. He had become an excellent thief due to his guardianship of Felisya, and enjoyed several brushes with death all for her sake. He had just recently succumbed to his criminal ways and been arrested, leaving Felisya on her own. It was then that Sylle came.
As a faerie, she could sense the emotions of her C’aerme, and was able to hone in them, drawing her to her side. Felisya, was pleased with this new companion. She treated Sylle kindly, trying to give her snacks and small gifts. When Sylle rescued her from a violent man on the streets of Charvile by blinding him, giving Felisya time to escape, the girl was full of gratitude. She began following in her brother’s footsteps, stealing to give to Sylle. However, this put her in more and more precarious situations. Sylle would always save her, which emboldened Felisya to more daring feats of theft.
Sylle tried to dissuade Felisya from these acts of foolishness. She tried to show her that they would be fine without it and that it was hurting those they stole from. However, Felisya shook off such advice and continued on with her ways. She was addicted to the thrill of stealing and getting away with it. Finally, Sylle refused to save her anymore, telling her that if she was caught, she would need to go to prison. She hoped this would persuade her to stop. Felisya was angered by this declaration on the part of her faerie companion. But, afraid of the consequences, should she get caught, Felisya agreed to stop, but said she never wanted to see Sylle again. Having no other option, Sylle left, though she remained in the city to secretly watch over her C’aerme.
Unbeknownst to Felisya, this rejection of her faerie caused too much pain to the creature. That pain was turned into resentment, and from there, Sylle became a Dhu Deith (Black Flame): a dark faerie spirit which plagues those they see as threats to their C’aerme. Instead of just protecting Felisya, she began to attack and later kill those around the girl.
Felisya later left Charvile, but everywhere she went, those she would meet would end up dying for one cause or another. She began to think she was cursed, and feared interacting with others.
