The Feeling Of Content
The key they’d given me still fit in the lock, but the house no longer felt like home. I had I stayed away to long. Simply seen to much. I had a whole life while I was away. Even though it was only a year. The terrible things I had been through, the pain and losses of close friends bought through near death experiences was to heavy a weight. It was one I could not put down. I knew that it would follow me for the rest of my days so I could never find peace. Because when I looked out of my circular window, into The Shire, I saw my old friends, people who had lived here happily there entire lives, and I realized, I no longer fit in this perfect picture. I had my adventure, and I was quite thankful for it. And I knew I could no longer stay here. I just didn’t know how to tell the others. I will find peace over the sea. Into the land of undying light. Only there. And as I rode over the hills to the land of the elves, I felt the perfect mixture of tears and joy. The only way I could describe it was contentness. I felt like I could laugh or cry or maybe sit and think for hours. I was at the end, and I felt it in my bones. But I was no longer afraid. This was where my story ended and another’s began.
