Lovers Anew

seven days ago

we surrendered on a porch

finding the courage

to ignite our double torch

and as our truths matched, our kiss

lit the sacred spark,

set our hearts and souls alight,

chasing away the

dark; and since licked by the flames,

I’ve burned for one more night

seven days ago

truths of mine bared and vanished

which of us fell first?

who crossed the line that managed

to keep us apart? now we’re

tossing out embers

at the orchards of our lives,

staring at the sun

blinded by the brightness of

love meant only for the dark
