Reaching, stretching into the dark and damp

Without thought or plan

Only the desire to survive

Throwing parts of myself deep into the unknown

Casting out for signs of life

Sprawling into the darkness

Crawling further and further

Hoping that this time to take hold

To become rooted, grounded

To be nourished and thrive

That all of the time in the darkness

Will help me to spring towards the light

And keep me from withering away
