STORY STARTER

While on a first date, you begin to realise that the person you’re seeing is actually someone you used to know. But now they seem very different…

Old Love

I walk up to the table, this was it; my very first date. On his profile he looked similar to someone I used to know, but I pushed that aside; well, because it was impossible. Old love couldn’t become fresh, or be reborn. There was just no way…

As our gazes meet something ignited a familar feeling within me; everything about his honey blonde wavy hair and everything about his eyes…They evoked with a sense of nostalgia, like I’ve looked into them before; it was something I saw so long ago.

I decided to speak up. “Have we met before?” My voice spoke of nostalgia and laced with love; tied together to make the perfect bow, such a beautiful rytheme those four words had.

“Only fate can persue me and you to better remember, isn’t that right? Now, shall we get back to this beloved date?” He replies to me, he has to know who I am. Our hearts are practically intertwined. He knew that. I knew that. “Wouldn’t want to spoil our dinner, right, Darling?” He grabbed his wine glass and took a swig before placing it back down on the table.

But that’s not what I was thinking about, oh no, what I was thinking about was how much I couldn’t get over losing him before and then remeeting him again now. He was once someone I loved, but now someone I had not a single clue about.

He was an entirely different person; a new man from the one I used to be so inlove with. And that’s something I have to accept, besides, he probably doesn’t even recall such memories we had shared together.
