Budding
In a normal world, have a supernatural power would be amazing. Everyone would look at you like you were special. Some kind of superhero. Not here, though. In my world, having a superpower is usual. everyone has it. If you didn’t have a power, that is when people would start lookingat you like you were unusual. You’d be wierd, strange. . . special. When you were 4, you would start manifesting a power. This was callled budding. For example, when I turned 4, I would start babbling about disturbing things. Once, we went to the funeral of my grandaddy who passed away due to a snake bite. I approached my grandmama who was crying.
“ I understand why you’re crying, Grandmama,” I said. She sniffled.
“ Oh!” she cried and reached out to hug me.
“ After all, you’re next,” I murmered, much ot Grandmama’s shock and horror. And exactly one year later, Grandmama passed away due to a heart attack. Everyone soon discovered that I could see the future, nad would come to me everytime they wanted ot know about thier fate. But, as I grew, so did my powers. I could see thier future a lot clearer and my predictions were more long term. This happened to everyone. WHen they grew, thier powers did too. THis was because, as everyone knew, magic was part of you, in your body. Like a bone or muscle, for example. The strongr the magic got, the stronger you got. MAgic is everwhere, and in everyone. Can you imagine a world without it?
