These teeth that gnash to make sense of the times

These screams and shouts as each one tries to take up space

Thoughts trapped and wrestling a confined mind

Behind these eyes of positivity and support

Lies turmoil and chaos

So many, so conflicting, so dark

Each one weighted

You’re not good enough

You’re too stupid to know

You’ll never be loved

You’ve really done it this time

To claw some of support that pours out to others and keep it for myself

I am worthy

I am smart

I am versatile, agile, I am remarkable

Just the same as I tell them about themselves

For a while, the chaos calms.
