POEM STARTER

The Scars on Our Hearts

Write a poem which could have this as the title.

Scars And Whispered Sorrows

Words like stones, they broke us down,

Left empty spaces in this town.

Where love once bloomed, now shadows creep,

The scars we hold, too deep to sleep.

We tried to build a world so bright,

But darkness stole away the light.

The hurt remains, a constant sting,

A broken song, we cannot sing.

A name, "Cody," a whispered, sad sound,

"Sorry," I say, on broken ground.

They say I'm wrong, too flawed to keep,

A wasted chance, where sorrows sleep.

Too late I see, the time I stole,

A heavy heart, a broken hole.

But still, this truth, I can't deny,

"I love you, Cody," though tears may lie.

Each mark we wear, a memory's trace,

A lonely ache, upon our face.

We search for ways to mend the pain,

To find a sun, through falling rain.

Even love, a painful sting,

A sorry heart, no joy can bring.

Though scars remain, a heavy weight,

Perhaps we'll learn, it's not too late.

To find some peace, some gentle grace,

And heal the wounds, time cannot erase.
