POEM STARTER
Compose a ghazal about a love that transcends decades, weathering all life's trials.
A ghazal is an Arabic poem that consists of a minimum of five couplets, with the second line of each couplet always ending with the same word. They are usually about the beauty of love in spite of difficulty.
And She Told Me She Loves Me
I slept in today, my alarm sounded no plea
I’m running quite late — and she told me she loves me
But in my hot haste, I twisted my knee
I’m in agony — and she told me she loves me
Still stumbling, I realized I’d misplaced my key
It’s a quarter till eight — and she told me she loves me
I’m half-asleep, hungry, have places to be
But I can’t stop smiling — cause she told me she loves me
I get in the car and suddenly see…
That it’s Sunday.
It’s my day off.
I drag my body back inside to the heat
But I’m already warm
From my crown to my feet
Cause she told me she loves me.

A/n: Not quite a ghazal, but I’m okay with it. :)
