Suppressed
There’s a buzzing in her ears
She gulps
The sound echos through her body
Her mind is so loud
But she can’t vocalize a single thought
Her mouth opens
Closes
Opens
Closes
The thoughts seep down the back of her neck like chemicals into soil
They wrap around her throat like roots of an old tree, tangled and rotted
They branch into her chest and create a cage
Her body is filled with dirt
She’s screaming, but the sound is absorbed by the packed earth
Her thoughts bury her alive
Let us take a moment of silence
