I never knew why the birds would sing

I never knew why the world had such beautiful trees. I never knew why they had a voice

And yet I didn’t , we were the same. We both didn’t know why the caged birds sing , why the stars would fill up the night sky , why we couldn’t answer each other knocking from the window . You would knock on my window where the birds lay and say the caged birds are singing ,

I would always reply it’s because they know what’s happening . They remember how you knock, how your voice would fill empty voids of course the caged birds would sing for you . I just wish i could sing to with them
