POEM STARTER

Write a poem about a minor inconvenience.

This may help you articulate nuanced emotions that are not outright exaggerated and over the top.

Show-Off

Rammed into the doorframe

Now held up in the air

I hop

Pain sharp and

Throbbing

My mother, behind me,

Asks if I’m alright

Yes, I say

Still clutching my foot

Still stumbling

Just stubbed three of my toes

Well don’t do that!

No one likes a show-off…
