Engineered Humans
âDroid #A454 has escaped! I repeat, Droid #A454 has escaped and is now heading over the North gates! Over.â A stern guard reported while watching the security footage of the biggest mistake they had made.
âRoger that, currently sending two hundred soldiers. Over.â Said the guard on the other side of the line.
Meanwhile she ran as fast as she could. She oiled her legs prior to her brilliant escape plan. Alex (the name she had given herself while planning her escape) looked up at the 20 foot gate that stood between her and her freedom. She jumped on the wall and gripped it with her metal claws and spiky shoes that she made by gluing nails onto.
âThere it is! Get it!â She heard several guards yell. âItâs climbing up the gate! Quick.â One of the voices sounded like her friend, Droid #B170. He was on their side now and nothing could be done. If he really wanted to be free he would do it, just like Alex did.
She gripped the gate tighter and scrawled up. Alex was almost at the top now and could finally forget this horrid place.
The guards, both human and droids, aimed their guns at her and fired. One got her right arm right as she was about to get up on the wall, but she slipped and slid a couple feet down.
âHurry, drag her down!â That voice. It was Droid #B170 again.
Several soldiers came charging at her, but she kicked them with her foot while struggling to hold on.
âDroid #B170!âŠPhillip. Please just let me go.â Alex looked into his empty eyes, which was strange because she remembered them always being a sparkly kind of green.
Philip didnât respond, he just looked at her with furrowed brows.
âDonât you remember helping me create my escape plan? Donât you remember us always being together and laughing and-â Alex paused as realization hit her in the face. âHah. So thatâs what it is. They reset youâŠâ
âI donât have time for this. The commander ordered us to bring you back to him, that is, if youâre still alive after we shoot you down.â Philip aimed his gun at her and shot her other hand that she was struggling to hold on with.
âShit!â She hit the ground as both of her arms bleed. She let out a howl. Not because of her pierced arms and not because she failed, but because Philip betrayed her.
âYou lying piece of shit. You swore to me you wouldnât tell them. You swore you wouldnât let them reset you!â Alex cried.
Phillip stood, emotionless. He rose his gun and a loud thunder-like sound struck. Alexâs eyes widened with shock when she looked down to see her stomach bleeding.
âBring Droid #A454 to the commander and make sure it doesnât escape this time.â He said as he lowered his gun.
âYes, Sir!â Several voices obeyed.
Two buff Droids came up to Alex, each one picking her up by her injured arms. They carried her back to what seemed like prison.
