Sinking Boats
The boat has sunk,
And it’s rotten boards are doused.
The mold is covering the edges,
While the sails are wrenched apart.
And as the waves return to the sea,
So the words give way to silence.
The boat is no longer sinking,
Yet the sand is pulling it down.
