POEM STARTER
A photo booth camera captures the moment when a girl confesses something to her friend.
In a poem or short story, describe the image and let the readers infer the nature of the confession.
Pulled Together, Pushed Apart
“I love you,” Luna whispered.
“WHAT?!” I wipped my head around to look at her. I may have ruined the picture, but what did Luna say?
“I love you, Quinn!” Luna said with tears welling in her eyes.
“I… I love you too,” I blushed.
“I have loved you since we met,” Luna said.
“Why are you telling me now?” I asked
“Because, I moving away this weekend,” Luna’s eyes were glassy as her tears dared to fall.
“Luna,” I tried to comfort, but I was crying too. The girl I love, is moving away.
“I’m moving to Florida,” she began to sob.
“It’s okay. I will always be there, if not physically, in spirit,” I hugged her tightly, I didn’t want to let go.
“I don’t want to move!” Luna complained.
“I don’t want you to either, but sometimes we have to deal with the curveballs life throws us,” I looked her in the eyes and hugged her again.
*I like this. I might add onto this with another prompt at some point, but I am too lazy to write anymore. Have a great day!*
