Carol pulled her coat on and tied her shoes. The winter this year had been especially cold. Something that had never happened in her lifetime occurred this year. The lake they lived on froze. Ever since it happened she had been hearing sounds coming from across the lake. The only thing that was of was that she knew that no one lived over there.
