Snow softly piles on the grounds around me,

I clutch the unborn child within me.

I can’t turn back, no, they’ll come for me.

I can’t keep forward, no, my knees betray me.

There’s a hollow in the tree, if I can just make it ‘cross the border.

The hollow set me free.

The hollow kept me warm, as the snow continued to cover my tracks.

“Woah, there,” I heard.

“Steady it goes, there,” the same voice called.

I couldn’t move, my limbs frozen in a cradle,

but somehow,

the King came to find me.

He scooped me up, took me to his home, and cared for me.
