I was just trying to be what you wanted

They just grew higher when I’d reach them

So I could never truely be enough

So you would just raise the bar

And I would keep jumping for it

Now I know I should’ve stopped trying

To win an unwinnable battle

But I was just a kid, and you were in charge

So of course I thought you knew best

So if the bar was too high

It must be my fault for falling short

And not yours for moving it away
