The Log Book Of Jade Skoff: Study Site No. 4889, Year Sampled: 6789, Star System: E4P, Planet: Zulu

Log Book:

September 5th, 6789 - 2pm

Study site No. 4889 SE upper quadrant.

The pictographs are such that they take up the majority of the SE face of the rock formation (Code: C12). Due to equipment malfunctions, we have yet to scale the steep sides of C12. Therefore our investigations have been limited to aerial photographs. A small team has been dispatched to analyze the surrounding grounds beneath the pictographs, per my order. Our hypothesis remains:

“If pictographs we’re found to be created using primitive tools, then we can conclude they were created by lifeforms of this planet. Therefore, not from an extraterrestrial lifeforms”.

Currently awaiting equipment to further investigations, and for ecologist Olivia Thompson, for further insight into the surrounding flora and fauna.

I am astounded by the abundance of mineral material. I continue to take samples. Dr. Thompson, has already identified 6 possibly new specimens. All samples have been labeled and secured for further testing.

Gear note: Vegetation gets dense in lower quadrant, protect legs and arms from contact.

We have found the camp site of our crew members. There are signs of a struggle. A crew member’s glasses have been located broken among the rocks. We have found what is believed to be blood splatter along a rock wall. Possibly a day or two old? Evidence suggest members of the team left camp due south. We fear the worst. Is it possible they came into contact with something?

Coms with Jane are intermittent at best, we believe they have received our aid request. We sent two team members back to headquarters to ensure our message has been received. Military support is necessary.

We were forced to camp due to inclement weather. For safety concerns tents are close together. I remain awake along with Dr. Thompson for first watch. All remains quiet.

-8am

Biologist Mateo, head of the lost crew walked into camp early this morning. He has yet to speak and seems to be delirious but otherwise okay. Our medic has him on bed rest. We will press the issue with him later this evening. Coms have gone offline. No word from headquarters.

-2pm

Dr. Thompsons and many crew members have fallen Ill. Coms remain offline.

-5pm

Sick crew members have begun acting erratic even violent. We’ve used seductives to quell them for now. I’ve sent two more of my team members back to headquarters for updates. The sick cannot travel.

Dr. Thompson must have wondered away from camp. Now missing. Mateo ransacked our samples. We found him throwing them out away from camp.

-7pm

While looking for Dr Thompson In the surrounding area I caught a glimpse of a human shaped individual watching me from the shadowed crevices of rock. Returned to camp.

Johnathon has passed, along with Dominique and Luke. Mateo has been mumbling in his sleep. The Same words over and over “Not alone” I can’t get any damn sleep with his constant muttering. Between him and that damn flashing light. I keep hoping he’ll finally die so I can get some sleep. Maybe I should just speed things up. Im so fucking tired
