Viral
I feel so stupid. But how was I supposed to know? It was a just a music video. Overnight I had become famous. I’m not complaining. I bet that if a real celebrity had posted that video, no one would say a thing.
I had woken up that morning to hear the sound of my phone ringing. And loudly. “What the heck?” I mumbled. My video had blown up! there was a million comments and likes. I had gone viral.
I had brought my phone downstairs to show my mom. “Mom! Look! My video went viral!” I shouted and showed her the the screen of my phone. Mom smirked, and said “Well, I think I need to hire some bodyguards to keep out all the fans.” She laughed. I couldn’t believe it. I was famous! “Speaking of viral, what did you post the video on?” Mom asked. I looked up at the ceiling trying to remember. “YouTube, Tik Tok, and Instagram.” I replied. Mom raised an eyebrow. “You have Instagram?” I shrugged.
As soon as I had breakfast and got changed, I texted my best friend, Katherine (Aka Kat). Have you heard? I texted her. She responded with, Yes! Of course I have!! I smiled. I texted her to meet me at the coffee shop down the street, then, put my phone in my pocket and was on my way to see my friend.
We met outside the shop. Kat was grinning from ear to ear. “Aren’t you happy?” She squealed with excitement. I smiled. “Yup.” We entered the shop and found a seat quickly. But, as soon as we did, paparazzi gathered around our table and started taking pictures. I wished that I could just go to the shop and not be surrounded.
If Kat or my Mom had told me not to post the video because I would hate the result, I would have rolled my eyes and posted it anyway. But now I understand.
