I looked and listened like a tortoise,
To Mr. All intense and purpose,
Like a drunken counting game,
I really thought that was his name.
This is great! I think if you added another line you could make an even bigger impact on the reader.
I love this poem, the rhymes are absolutely beautiful. You may want to consider making it longer as it feels a bit unfinished I think this was slightly intentional to contribute to the mood of the poem (which turned out very nicely by the way) but I think if written in the same tone of the poem it could keep the same vibe as long as the second stanza had a air of mystery. Again beautiful poem I don’t quite know exactly what to yet it still has such a enchanting charm.
