POEM STARTER

Write a free verse poem that includes the word: Time

A free verse poem is a form of poetry that does not have a set meter or rhyme scheme.

Time.

When will it pass?,

Please let it pass-

The ticking is endless,

My anticipation worse,

If I keep staring at this clock,

Time will keep melting to sludge,

Taunting me with its speed.

Tapping my fingers,

Bored out of my mind,

Its hands roam in circles,

Pointing at my demise,

A roulette of time,

Shooting me with longing.

It hurts-, it hurts,

Time clutching at my wrists,

Keeping me and seconds still,

Frostbite nipping my skin,

An ice cube with me inside,

The constant, cold numbness around.

Time is endless,

So it will naturally stretch out,

Prolonging before me,

Taunting me with no end-

β€œLive in the moment,” it chants,

But good moments leave me homeless now.
