Coffee Cup

First there is emptiness. No racing thoughts, muddled ‘to do’ lists or questions. Just emptiness. You realise your mind is quiet. It’s calm for the first time in a few days. And as you look around you, you notice that it’s a beautiful day. There are birds singing, quiet conversations taking place and the sounds of the street. The sun is shining down on you and you can feel it heating your skin.


This feeling isn’t one you feel often. This almost need to smile and bask in the world around you. But like the introvert you are, you smile shyly to your coffee cup and just take a deep breath in. Right now; right here. You are calm. Relaxed. Happy.
