The End-
What had moments ago seemed like a peaceful haven now seemed like being in a prison. The once beautiful trees now seemed like the ideal hide out for more of them. Put there to trick him into a false sense of security. He wouldn’t let it work.
Luckily, Eli loved to paddle fast. He lived for The feeling of the wind pushing like a firm pair of hands against his weathered face and the way the water moved in a different direction every time the paddle made contact with it.
But today the wind made his eyes sting and the dancing water was only a distraction. He had to get away from them! Them all.
There had always been something very different about Eli. For as long as he could remember, he’d been a story teller He’d be encouraged to write them down sometimes but he wouldn’t often do it. He felt the paper of books absorbed the magic of a story. Because a story was most vivid in the authors head he always told himself. And anyway no one would understand the way he Wrote. He turned his emotions into characters who were never stuck up busy bodies but people. Relatable with both negative and positive traits. He’d tried to do right by then…
Yet for some reason his characters weren’t satisfied. So, in fact unsatisfied that they’d come from the story world to haunt him.
Eli took a deep breath then followed it with another momentarily resting his aching arms. Nothing mattered but getting away and that’s what he would do.
But they were so close now! Close Enough that they could quite easily reach out and tip Eli’s kayak submerging Eli under the greyish waters of the murky lake. All because he never showed them to the world. He’d kept then caged, selfishly keeping the reality of them for himself and now he would pay….
The end wrote Sammy. Who was quite please with himself for writing down and entire story. It might have been short but it was progress. Seeing Eli (one of his protagonists ) in town had spooked him a little. So he’d put him down, down on paper to share with the world. Hopefully that would keep him happy and feel content enough to never leave the story world again.
“The end” wrote Bella.
