This is a story about Arthur Smit.

Arthur Smit lives in 201 Baker Street and every day at exactly 3:30 am he wakes up on the right side of his bed. Every morning he knocks on each wooden door as he makes his way to his toothbrush. Most people at these early hours are grumbling and trying hard to recount dreams, but Arthur Smit is too busy closing his eyes so he can't count his teeth.

Arthur Smit lives alone but he can't stop to think how to cure this because he has to straighten his horseshoe and make is house clean. At the crossing walk he steps only on the white stripes to get to the bus stop. Most people would be looking for the bus but Arthur Smit is looking hard at the green ground hoping for a special clover.

When coworkers eat lunch they are weary of being near his left shoulder.

At 5:30 he departs to the subway. He is very polite and never looks anyone in the eye for fear of the evil eye. He walks a a third of a mile more to avoid construction ladders at his stop.
