POEM STARTER

A photo booth camera captures the moment when a girl confesses something to her friend.

In a poem or short story, describe the image and let the readers infer the nature of the confession.

Thespian confessions

They would later jokingly call it a flash confession. The flashlight had captured every corner of her surprised face, every lie untold, now finally surfacing in that small space between them. Her brows slightly arched, almost pleading, and her downturned mouth matching the same curvature. Her eyes, though, were fierce, with that weird determination that you find when you’ve exhausted all your other resources, but also kind of shocked, bared by the realisation that things would no longer be the same again. Her friend's face barely made it into the picture, leaving her as the main character on stage in full spotlight, an imagery she would eventually describe as quite apt: a great theatrical ending to one big farce.
