POEM STARTER

Submitted by C.C Charlie

Write a poem about someone on their way to face their enemy.

An unusual theme for poetry; see how you can portray rivals and conflict in poetic form.

Enemy—Not Me

_Silence_ It filled the room With its **Void** The wood floor _Creaked_ The light **F**l**i**c**k**e**r**e**d ** All I could do Was Walk Forward And continue to stare At the glass before Me It’s was **_silver_**, such an innocent **_silver_** The women told me That I’d find my **enemy** in here So why is there only this **_Silver_**? My reflection stared back at me Dull Tired Caught on drugs But I couldn’t be my own **Enemy** I was helping myself Gorging down on the life I had left And so I ran As far away as I could, from the house Trying to convince myself that the women was _Wrong_ But if she was _wrong_… Why did I f l e e ?
