POEM STARTER
Submitted by Maranda Quinn
Write a Somonka from the perspectives of two lovers. A Somonka is made of two Tankas, with the second responding to the first.
A tanka consists of five lines with a syllabic structure of 5-7-5-7-7
An atmosphere apart
"I'm in love with you."
I whispered under the stars.
You did not respond.
"I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU!" I yell
The stars somehow start to dim.
I look down at her.
My gaze longing and weary.
I long for her touch.
There's miles keeping us apart.
My spirit starts to dim slowly.
