hanging
the corruption of the mind is something most common
i knew it slipped away from me,
like rain down a window
something so fragile
so soft
broken, by forces beyond my control
the mind shifts, changes, grows,
until i swear i see
a man hanging from a tree,
where he was executed,
two hundred years ago
