Demons
Nicole was sweating. She adjusted her glasses nervously while trying hard to take in her surroundings. Nicole took a loud deep breath in through her nostrils; held it for a moment then let it out over the course of ten seconds. She felt her pounding heart take it down a notch. She repeated the process while telling herself freaking the fuck out won’t help her survive this. Nicole’s heart rate lowered again.
The once warm bedroom had become ridged and ice cold. Nicole heard the heater. Tic. Tic. Proof that she didn’t forget to put the heat on before she climbed into bed. So why was she freezing. More importantly what was that creepy voice saying her name?
BANG! Nicole’s mirror shattered as the thought crossed her minds threshold. She was clearly even more frightened and abandoned the controlled breathing she was previously attempting. Her blankets flew backwards off the bed with violence. She let out a scream of pure terror. Nicole flung herself out of bed anxiously. Hands sweating with fear she tried to grip the doorknob but it was locked from the outside. “Impossible!” She screamed. She placed her ear to the door and heard an inhuman whale. She was trapped.
