Rejuvenate me, Moon. Let your milky, pearlescent pride irradiate my skin;
it curls into even the most neglected crevices, gently caressing the cracks of my shaky hands and the dirt atop my unkempt cuticles.
You love everyone,
even the ordinary hill I sprawl about,
and the sharp grass that pinches me.
Here I’ll reside every night,
letting you whisk me apart from existence.
I’ll forever ascend
and let myself
f l o a t
away.
Moon, we’re the only ones awake.
It’s our own little world
among a backdrop blanket of the nebulous night
and the silver stars that shine so bright.
Moon,
the world will wake soon,
so lend it to me,
your moonshine manifested as art
or as poetry written divinely,
I’ll protect it with my confined
heart,
Sleep, Moon,
I will see you soon.
Goodnight and sweet dreams!
